Smithills School Caft Fair

I did my first craft fair on Saturday (10 Feb) with a good friend who sells the most amazing handmade – well everything, from scarfs and bags, cushions to hair clips –  Take a look at her website,

For my first go I didn’t do too badly, selling over 60% of my stock.

There will be lots more craft and wedding fairs coming up over the next few months, but for now I am having a well earned rest, putiting my feet up with a nice cup of tea and a cupcake!

I hope you to see you at Spring into Craft, Preshwich, Manchester on 4 March.

Baking for charity

Recently I was asked to create a cake for a charity raffle, raising funds for Liverpool Signing Choir.

I create a 7 inch very boozy fruit and spices chocolate cake decorate with a figure, snowman a lot of glittery snowflakes…

Together with many other wonderful prizes the event raised £280 for the choir which was enough to send one its members on an official British Sign Language course and gain a level one qualification.

Fame at last

A while ago I did a Moshi Monsters Moshlings cake for a young girl’s 10th birthday. I was asked if I could include Cutiepie and Shi Shi but the rest was up to me so I add in Snookcums a cutie little blue dragon.

Moshlinkg Cake

I’m glad to say the young girl was so please with the cake I created for her that she sent a photo to the offical Moshi Monsters Magazine.

Imagine my surprise when I received a message from her letting me know that the cake was featured in the mag… sadly I’m not credited. Oh fame at last!

Cake featured in Moshi Monsters Magazine

If you want to take a look it’s in the December issue of the Moshi Monsters Magazine. Avaliable in all good newsagents 🙂

Hello and welcome

Before we go any further this is just a temporary look for the blog until I can figure out how to make it look how I want it to and reflects the Cakes by JoJo website.

I’ve started this blog with a recipe for making very simple cupcakes with vanilla frosting. Making cupcakes is a fantastic way of getting into baking as they are really simple to do and don’t take a lot of time or cost that much to make.

I hope to be posting more recipes and showcasing some of the work I have done.
